Laser technology revolutionizes manufacturing: Shenzhen Horizon Laser leads the new wave of precision processing

28 Jul, 2025

With the global manufacturing industry transforming towards intelligence and greenness, laser technology, as a core process of high-end manufacturing, is experiencing explosive growth. Shenzhen Horizon Laser Technology Co., Ltd. has made breakthrough progress in the fields of new energy, aerospace, etc. with its innovative laser welding and cleaning solutions, helping "Made in China" reach new heights.

Laser welding: Redefining Precision Manufacturing

In the production of power batteries for new energy vehicles, traditional welding techniques are difficult to meet the requirements of high conductivity and high sealing performance. The five-axis laser welding system developed by Horizon Laser has achieved high-intensity welding of dissimilar materials such as aluminum alloy and copper by precisely controlling the path and energy of the laser beam. The porosity of the weld seam is less than 0.5%, which has helped a leading battery manufacturer increase the yield rate to 99.3%.

"Our robot laser welding workstation has been applied in Tesla's supply chain enterprises," said the technical director of Horizon Laser. "By using AI to monitor the status of the welding pool in real time, the processing efficiency can be increased by 40%."

Laser cleaning: A "Traceless" Revolution in green Manufacturing

In the field of rail transit, traditional sandblasting cleaning generates a large amount of dust pollution. The gantry-type laser cleaning machine launched by Horizon uses pulsed fiber laser technology to remove oxides from the surface of high-speed rail gearboxes without damaging the base material. The cleaning efficiency reaches 2 square meters per hour, and the entire process is free of consumables and pollution.

It is worth noting that its portable cleaning backpack has been used in the restoration of ancient buildings in the Forbidden City. By precisely regulating the wavelength, it has achieved millimeter-level cleaning of the dirt accumulated on wooden structures over hundreds of years, providing a new model for the protection of cultural heritage.

Industry breakthrough: Domestic equipment replaces imported ones

In the past year, Horizon Laser's ultrafast laser cutting machine successfully broke the foreign monopoly. Its 20μm spot diameter can achieve micron-level cutting of cardiovascular stents, with precision comparable to that of German equipment, while reducing the cost by 35%. At present, this equipment has passed the GMP certification for medical devices and is expected to be delivered to 50 units to leading domestic medical device enterprises within the year.

Future layout: Smart factory ecosystem

It has been revealed that Horizon Robotics is collaborating with Huawei Cloud to develop an Internet of Things platform for laser processing. Through 5G, it can transmit equipment status data in real time, enabling remote process debugging and predictive maintenance. After the platform goes online, the capacity utilization rate of customers can be increased by more than 25%.
